GoPro killed shaky video forever with the HERO 7 Black and its HyperSmooth and TimeWarp technology. It eliminates the need for a gimbal and lets you capture silky smooth footage. Plus, it supports live streaming directly to Facebook and YouTube. And don't forget about its vertical (portrait) capture capabilities!
Moreover, the HERO 7 Black has Face, Smile, and Scene Detection which allows the GoPro app to edit videos automatically. We also love the Touch Zoom feature that ensures you get the perfect shot every time.

With the DJI Osmo Action coming up with a game changing dual-screen display, GoPro in return came up with Mods - Media Mod, Display Mod, and Light Mod. These mods allow users to have attachments that they need. These are available for pre-order starting December 2019.
Also on the hardware side, GoPro integrated the mounting (frameless mounting with folding fingers) with the body so no need to always remove the frame since the action camera is waterproof until 33ft (10m).
GoPro also upgraded Hypersmooth and Timewarp to 2.0 as well as Live Streaming to 1080p.
For photos, Superphoto now comes with HDR capability. Another new feature is LiveBurst as well as RAW photo on all modes.
For videos, 4K and 2.7K can now shoot up to 100Mbps. There is also horizon levelling (with the GoPro app) as well as an added Narrow Field of View. For those looking into night photography, the 8 also has a Night Lapse Video capability. TimeWarp also now has Auto option and interval can be changed with just a tap in the screen.
As for the settings, custom settings and customizable on-screen shortcuts are also now available.
